Our go-to
Jaipur Guide
Jaipur is home, but it is also a city we never quite finish discovering. Behind its pink façades and bustling bazaars is a constantly evolving mix of old institutions, beautiful new spaces, tiny neighbourhood favourites and places we find ourselves returning to again and again.
This isn't intended to be an exhaustive guide to Jaipur. It's simply our collection of places we love — and the ones we'd recommend to friends visiting the city.
Here are a few places worth making time for beyond the obvious Jaipur checklist. →
THINGS TO DO
Khanoom Workshop
A beautiful ceramic and tableware studio tucked away at Golcha Gardens, bringing together local Bikaner kaolin clay and the intricate artistry of traditional Rajasthani miniature painting. A fascinating meeting of ceramics, craft and contemporary design — a great pick for anyone interested in seeing how Jaipur’s traditional techniques are being reimagined today.
Nila House
A must for textile and craft lovers. Nila House is dedicated to preserving and celebrating India's natural dyeing and handcraft traditions, and is housed in a beautifully restored Jaipur residence. Go slowly — this is one to linger over.
Kanota Courtyard
A beautiful space worth adding to your Jaipur wanderings, particularly if you love design, architecture and thoughtfully restored spaces. A quieter addition to the itinerary and a lovely contrast to the city's busier sights.
Jhalana Leopard Safari
Head out on an early-morning or late-afternoon safari through Jhalana Leopard Reserve. It's remarkable to have the chance to spot leopards and other wildlife so close to the city. Book your safari in advance, and we'd choose the earliest or latest slot of the day rather than heading out in the midday heat.BRUNCH & COFFEE
Anokhi Café
A longtime Jaipur favourite and an easy stop for a relaxed lunch or coffee, especially if you're already browsing the Anokhi shop next door. Fresh, simple and clean food in a calm setting.
Jaipur Modern
A good spot for a leisurely brunch or coffee, particularly if you're in the mood for somewhere calm and beautifully designed. Pair it with a browse through the store — an easy way to spend a slow Jaipur morning.
Doppler Coffee
Set inside a revamped old Jaipur house with a beautiful sky-lit courtyard, Doppler is unfussy and one of our favourite caffeine and matcha stops in the city. They also host an ever-changing mix of interesting events and pop-ups, so check their socials to see what’s on while you’re in town.
Town Coffee
We come here with one order in mind: *the Thai Coconut Coffee*. It's our go-to and what we'd recommend if it's your first visit.DRINKS & DINNER
Paro
A rooftop bar in the heart of Jaipur, Paro is a great perch for watching the city go by from above. Come around sunset, order a cocktail and settle in as Jaipur shifts from day to night — lively, central and a fun spot to kick off an evening.Shikaar Bagh
A relaxed spot for an evening drink, with an old-school, outdoorsy Jaipur feel. Come for sundowners and stay as the garden lights come on — an easy place for a long, unhurried evening. We keep coming back for the Mutton Sula's. They sometimes even have freshly brewed beer.
The Johri
Atmospheric, intimate and particularly lovely for dinner. The setting is as much a part of the experience as the food. *Make a reservation* — especially for dinner.
Native Cocktail Room
Another one on our dinner list. Contemporary, beautifully done and a great choice for an evening out in Jaipur. *Reservations are highly recommended.*
