Block-Print Workshop

In this immersive two-hour workshop, you’ll step behind the scenes and into the world of block printing—a centuries-old craft rooted in tradition and storytelling.

Guided by our instructor along with skilled artisans, you’ll explore the history, technique, and quiet magic behind the patterns that have been passed down through generations. From there, it’s hands-on.

We’ll walk you through each stage of the process—carving blocks, preparing fabric, mixing colours, and finally, the rhythmic art of printing by hand. With each press of the block, you’ll begin to feel the meditative beauty of the craft unfold.

By the end, you won’t just take home a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted textile—you’ll carry with you a deeper connection to the artistry, patience, and heritage behind every print.

  • Whether you’re discovering block printing for the first time or reconnecting with a craft you’ve always loved, this workshop meets you where you are. It’s a moment to pause, play, and reconnect with the pleasure of creating—an invitation to slow down, explore freely, and shape something beautiful with your own hands.

  • Our block printing workshop runs Monday through Saturday, with two time slots to choose from:

    Morning: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
    Afternoon: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

    We take a pause on National and Hindu holidays, in keeping with local rhythms and traditions.

  • Adult: 6490 INR
    Student: 3540 INR

    We’re happy to offer special pricing for school and textile/design students—a small way to support emerging talent and curious minds. To access these rates, provide a valid student ID when you book.

  • Your block printing experience comes with everything you need:

    • Tote bag to print your design

    • Practice fabric for testing techniques

    • Wooden blocks and vibrant dyes

    • Workshop kit with:

    • Diary for notes and sketches

    • Illustrated booklet on the history and key terms of block printing

    • Certificate of participation to mark your creative journey

    • Apron to keep your clothes clean

    Bonus: Book at least one week in advance, and we’ll carve a custom name block just for you—a keepsake to carry your connection to the craft.
